Finance Business Partner

Importance of this Role

The Finance Business Partner is pivotal in executing Kantar's global, divisional, and regional financial objectives while collaborating closely with colleagues across our Centers of Excellence (Corporate Teams) and Global Business Services (Kantar Business Services/KBS). You will be an integral part of a Business Partnering team that delivers exceptional financial strategies, insights, solutions, and processes to your designated Business Unit within Kantar.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the relationship with the Industry, Solution, or Unit leader (herein Business Unit), acting as a strategic and insightful business partner and serving as the primary contact for leadership with Finance.
  • Oversee the Business Unit's annual planning and forecasting; establish key financial planning assumptions, collaborating with other organizational areas to prepare Business Unit plans.
  • Direct the Business Unit planning cycle, ensuring compliance with the divisional timeline.
  • Review, challenge, and approve Business Unit financial plans before they are presented to the Business Unit leader and functional leadership team.
  • Assess revenue pipeline and order book, implementing necessary improvement strategies to optimize revenue (pricing) and contribution margin, ensuring these strategies are incorporated into forecasts and annual plans.
  • Assist C&A in the monthly closing process by identifying discrepancies against expectations.
  • Work alongside HR Business Partner on workforce planning to ensure the achievement of projected revenue and direct expenses.
  • Enhance business performance by providing strategic, financial, and commercial decision support; offering interpretation, analysis, and recommendations to facilitate Business Unit leadership decision-making.
  • Deliver monthly insights on performance compared to Forecast, Annual Plan, and Year-over-Year drivers for the Business Unit.
  • Act as the initial point of contact for strategic finance support for the North America business.
  • Serve as a trusted business partner and key advisor, providing insights, support, and constructive challenge to commercial decisions based on thorough analysis.
  • Take ownership of initiatives, ensuring that commercial impacts and benefits are tracked through to completion.
  • Review financial outputs from systems and supporting teams to guarantee the integrity and accuracy of business results.
  • Ensure standard business performance reports meet the needs of the Business Unit and provide ad-hoc analysis only as necessary.
  • Assist in preparing and monitoring cases for capital expenditures and operational expenses.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by providing qualitative inputs and necessary commentary.
  • Be accountable for the operation of local controls in accordance with the Group Controls policy.

Required Skills & Experience

To excel in this position, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Membership in a professional accounting body (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ACA, OROC, OCC, or equivalent) or an MBA.
  • Proven experience and success in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
  • A strong understanding of the internal and external factors that influence business performance.
  • Experience in capital investment case preparation and evaluation.
  • Experience working in a global, data-driven, and matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply financial knowledge to address complex business challenges, including the capacity to distill and communicate financial information to non-financial business leaders.
  • A strong service orientation and skills supported by hands-on customer service delivery experience.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to influence senior partners and management.
  • A keen intuition for business, with the ability to cultivate positive relationships with key collaborators.
  • The ability to navigate challenging conversations with integrity and humility.
  • A collaborative colleague with the capacity to work efficiently with individuals at various levels of the organization, including the ability to work collaboratively and lead laterally across a GBS (KBS) organization.
  • The capability to generate practical and efficient solutions to address challenges and seize new opportunities.
  • A willingness to challenge the status quo and demonstrate innovative thinking.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while adhering to tight deadlines, including the skill to prioritize successfully.
  • Proficiency in financial systems (preference for: SIA, One Stream, Maconomy, PowerBI, Tableau).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
