Role: Finance Business Partner

Importance of the Role

The Finance Business Partner is pivotal in driving Kantar's global finance strategy, working closely with various stakeholders across our Corporate Teams and Global Business Services. This role is integral to the Business Partnering team, delivering exceptional financial strategies, insights, and processes tailored to the Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Business Unit leaders, acting as a strategic partner and primary finance contact.
  • Oversee the Business Unit's annual planning and forecasting, collaborating with different organizational areas to prepare comprehensive plans.
  • Manage the planning cycle, ensuring compliance with divisional timelines.
  • Critically assess and approve financial plans before they are presented to leadership.
  • Analyze revenue streams and implement strategies to enhance revenue and contribution margins.
  • Support the monthly closing process by identifying discrepancies against expectations.
  • Work alongside HR to align workforce planning with financial forecasts.
  • Enhance business performance through strategic financial support, offering insights and recommendations to facilitate decision-making.
  • Provide monthly performance insights against forecasts and plans.
  • Act as the primary contact for strategic finance inquiries within the North America sector.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, delivering insights and challenging commercial decisions based on thorough analysis.
  • Take ownership of initiatives, ensuring that their impact is tracked and reported.
  • Review financial outputs to ensure accuracy and integrity of results.
  • Ensure that performance reports meet the needs of the Business Unit and provide additional analysis as necessary.
  • Assist in preparing and monitoring capital and operational expenditure cases.
  • Support audit activities by providing qualitative insights and necessary commentary.
  • Ensure adherence to local controls in line with Group policy.
Required Skills and Experience

To excel in this position, candidates should possess:
  • A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Membership in a recognized accounting body (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or an MBA.
  • Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Understanding of factors influencing business performance.
  • Experience in capital investment case preparation.
  • Background in a global, data-driven, and matrixed organization.
  • Ability to translate complex financial information for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong customer service orientation with hands-on experience.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior management.
  • Strong business acumen and relationship-building skills.
  • Capability to lead challenging discussions with professionalism.
  • A collaborative approach to working with colleagues at all levels.
  • Proficiency in generating effective solutions to business challenges.
  • Ability to think creatively and challenge existing processes.
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SIA, One Stream, Maconomy) and Microsoft Office Suite.
