Through our member organizations, PICO California unites people of diverse economic, racial, ethnic, and faith backgrounds around a vision of shared prosperity and racial justice. We are seeking a skilled professional to develop and implement community organizing strategies that meet our project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct outreach to recyclers to understand their needs, challenges, and aspirations.
  • Build organizing teams composed of recyclers to lead our advocacy efforts.
  • Create partnerships with community-based organizations and potential advocacy partners.
  • Collaborate with Inclusive Action for the City to conduct policy research and power analysis to inform our policy campaigns.
  • Organize and prepare convenings related to the project.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience in community organizing, advocacy, or a related field.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • Proven experience in community organizing and advocacy.
  • Ability to engage with diverse communities and foster relationships.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategies to meet project objectives.
  • Ability to identify and assess potential project areas and communities for engagement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining partnerships with local organizations.
  • Ability to identify and collaborate with potential policy advocacy partners.
  • Experience conducting policy research and power analysis.
