Job Title: Lead Organizer

LA Voice is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Organizer to join our team. As a key member of our organizing team, you will play a critical role in building and sustaining a strong, diverse, and inclusive movement for racial and economic justice in Los Angeles County.

Job Summary:

The Lead Organizer will provide strategic leadership and support to grassroots leaders and communities across the county, working to build power and advance social change. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team that is committed to creating a more just and equitable society.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and support to grassroots leaders and communities across the county.
  • Build and sustain relationships with clergy and religious/spiritual leaders, identifying interests and challenges in congregations and developing strategies for congregational development.
  • Recruit, develop, and support grassroots leaders to exercise power for social change through organization and team structure development.
  • Manage at least one Community Organizer and support their growth and development.
  • Develop and implement effective community organizing strategies, including training and capacity-building programs for grassroots leaders.
  • Collaborate with partner organizations and coalitions to advance shared goals and build collective power.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum five years of experience in community organizing, with a strong track record of building and sustaining grassroots movements.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with diverse communities, including people of faith, and to build relationships with clergy and religious/spiritual leaders.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience managing teams and developing staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Commitment to social justice and racial equity, with a strong understanding of the issues facing Los Angeles County and the role of community organizing in advancing social change.
