Job Overview

Position Summary:
ACS Professional Staffing is seeking a dedicated individual to oversee project coordination. This role involves managing small teams to ensure the seamless execution of various projects. The Project Management Specialist will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring all project-related activities, becoming well-versed in the specific projects assigned. The position also requires staying informed about emerging technologies, suggesting process enhancements, and developing budgets.

Location: This is a full-time role based in Richland, WA.

Compensation: $47.73 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee small projects related to refueling outages, forced outages, and on-line maintenance as assigned.
  • Supervise staff involved in planning, executing, controlling, and monitoring project activities.
  • Ensure projects are carried out safely, with high quality, on schedule, and within budget constraints.
  • Manage all facets of project execution, including budget oversight, work package preparation, parts procurement, ALARA planning, safety considerations, resource allocation, and work execution.
  • Promptly address schedule delays and conflicts.
  • Develop and monitor project budgets, tracking costs against projections.
  • Engage regularly with clients, engineers, and management to ensure project progress and alignment.
  • Develop and manage contracts, liaising with vendors as necessary.
  • Prepare and present written and verbal communications to various stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Formulate and maintain long-term strategic plans associated with assigned projects.
  • Support the effective implementation of the Columbia Generating Station Self-Assessment and Corrective Action Program.
  • Assist with outage support, including Outage Control Center (OCC) activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with one year of experience in a technical domain;
    • OR an Associate's degree in a relevant field and three years of experience in a technical capacity;
    • OR a High School Diploma/GED with five years of experience in a technical role.
  • Project Management Certification and Construction Management Certification are preferred.
  • Nuclear experience is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • Basic knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Familiarity with core values related to human performance and efficient work execution.
  • Proficient in computer software tools, including MS Office.
  • Understanding of error reduction and human performance improvement strategies.
  • Experience in managing projects, particularly in on-line work management, refueling, and forced outage activities.
  • Familiarity with engineering principles or standard project management techniques.
