Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction methodologies and procedures, as well as experience in commercial project management and residential development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders to determine project specifications and ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors and suppliers to secure the best possible terms and prices.
  • Obtain necessary permits and licenses from regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Determine and allocate necessary resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Plan and execute construction operations to ensure deadlines are met and quality standards are maintained.
  • Acquire equipment and materials on a project basis, ensuring timely delivery and optimal utilization.
  • Hire and manage contractors and allocate responsibilities for assigned projects, ensuring clear communication and expectations.
  • Evaluate project progress and prepare detailed reports to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report any issues or concerns to senior management.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a construction project manager, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and project management principles, including quality and health and safety standards.
  • Familiarity with construction and project management software, including MS Office and other relevant tools.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and vendors.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A team player with leadership abilities, able to motivate and direct cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, building science, or a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
