Position Overview:

The Senior Health and Safety Advisor plays a crucial role in steering and executing project-specific safety protocols and procedures. This position is essential for providing expert Safety & Health guidance to the project management team within a heavy construction setting, ensuring that corrective measures are taken and team members are educated as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the implementation of Safety & Health programs on construction sites to ensure operations are performed safely and as intended.
  • Administer the Site Safety & Health program deliverables as outlined by the Corporate Safety & Health Department, addressing site-specific safety and health compliance inquiries promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant Local, State, and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
  • Plan and supervise field operations, including the creation and approval of Activity Hazard Analyses in collaboration with project management. Provide support to rectify health and safety violations, ensuring a secure working environment for all personnel.
  • Manage Safety & Health initiatives to achieve the organization's objective of zero safety incidents.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of health and safety performance, assessments, and maintain documentation to confirm compliance with Corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Address and resolve issues that may lead to work stoppages when there is a risk of immediate danger to life and health on a project.
