Position SummaryWe are seeking a proficient and meticulous Mine Surveyor with strong capabilities in CAD and GIS software to enhance our team. This position entails the creation and maintenance of comprehensive CAD drawings and GIS data pertinent to mining initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess experience in mining settings and demonstrate proficiency in both CAD and GIS applications.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain the technical GIS database to support mining operations and development projects.
- Integrate GIS data with CAD designs to facilitate planning, exploration, and operational tasks.
- Conduct precise land and mine surveys utilizing advanced surveying tools and methodologies.
- Develop, update, and sustain CAD drawings and models of mining sites, including topographic maps, mine layouts, and cross-sectional profiles.
- Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and other professionals to ensure survey data is effectively incorporated into mining plans and operations.
- Perform spatial analysis and data interpretation to inform planning and operational decisions.
- Ensure adherence to all safety and regulatory standards during surveying activities.
- Conduct regular site assessments and modify survey data and CAD models as required.
- Provide technical support and guidance on survey-related matters and CAD applications.
- Prepare and present survey reports, documentation, and CAD drawings for management and stakeholder review.
- Maintain and calibrate surveying and CAD equipment to guarantee optimal functionality.
- Demonstrated experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) in a mining context.
- Comprehensive understanding of mining operations, surveying techniques, and relevant regulations.
- Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities, with a capacity to collaborate effectively across various departments.
- Strong analytical skills with the capability to interpret and manipulate complex datasets.
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- This role encompasses a blend of fieldwork and office responsibilities. Fieldwork will be conducted year-round, requiring exposure to various weather conditions. Office duties will involve working at a desk with a laptop and phone.
