Position OverviewWe are seeking a dynamic and strategic individual with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mining, Geological, or Civil Engineering, coupled with 5-7 years of relevant experience in the mining sector. The successful candidate will possess leadership experience and comprehensive knowledge of the mining industry, including safety management and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise daily operations of Mine Engineers, Geologists, and Mine Surveyors.
- Assist in formulating budgets and performance metrics for the team.
- Design and manage mine layouts, waste dumps, and stockpiles.
- Coordinate project execution to meet safety, quality, and cost objectives.
- Oversee engineering phases of development and operational tasks.
- Lead exploration initiatives and resource identification studies.
- Ensure adherence to the mining plan for asset operations.
- Collaborate with Mine Supervisors to meet production targets.
- Provide geological expertise for resource acquisition assessments.
- Participate in the selection of new mining equipment.
- Continuously monitor key performance indicators to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports as necessary.
- Encourage teamwork and uphold high-performance standards and environmental stewardship.
- Support departmental staff development through feedback and communication.
- Promote safety management programs and ensure regulatory compliance.
- 5-7 years of experience in the mining industry with prior leadership roles.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, ArcGIS Pro, Vulcan, or similar mine planning software.
- In-depth knowledge of mining performance and systems.
- Able to inspire and manage team performance effectively.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mining, Geological, or Civil Engineering.
- This role involves regular computer work and occasional travel.
