Position SummaryWe are in search of a skilled and meticulous Coordinator - Mine Maintenance to oversee and manage the maintenance operations at our mining site. The ideal candidate will coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of mining machinery while leading a team of maintenance experts to support ongoing operations and productivity.
Key ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Mine Manager, the Coordinator - Mine Maintenance will:
- Supervise and assist in the maintenance of mining operations and equipment.
- Analyze maintenance issues and coordinate schedules to optimize equipment availability and performance.
- Plan maintenance tasks, including the procurement of necessary parts, tools, and equipment.
- Oversee the development and implementation of predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
- Lead a self-directed maintenance team, ensuring engagement, productivity, and performance; coach, train, and motivate team members while driving continuous improvement.
- Organize and maintain work and equipment history to enhance maintenance planning.
- Evaluate and adjust the inventory of spare parts based on maintenance requirements.
- Recommend and organize planned maintenance shutdowns.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in equipment reliability.
- Monitor, promote, and enforce safety programs and policies to maintain a safe work environment.
- Act as a self-starter while also being receptive to direction.
- Participate in installation and maintenance tasks alongside skilled trades workers as necessary.
- A minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience in maintenance within a large mining or manufacturing organization, preferably in heavy industry.
- Demonstrated experience in mine maintenance management or coordination, with a solid understanding of mining equipment and processes.
- Strong leadership capabilities, with experience in supervising and developing maintenance teams.
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
- Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices in mining maintenance.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mining Engineering, or an Associate's Degree/Diploma in Industrial Maintenance, Mine Technology, or Mechanical Technology (or equivalent experience).
- This role involves a combination of fieldwork and office responsibilities. Daily fieldwork will expose you to various weather conditions, while office duties will require working on a laptop, desk, and phone.
