About the Role

The Office of the CISO (OCISO) is a critical component of Confluent's Trust and Security organization, responsible for earning and retaining trust by championing Confluent's security, privacy, resilience, and compliance positions. This mission accelerates customer adoption and use of our platform and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish trust with customers through security and compliance assurance initiatives.
  • Oversee and execute Trust (security, privacy, resilience, and compliance) customer risk assessments, contract reviews, and negotiations.
  • Develop and demonstrate subject matter expertise on customer security assurance and regulatory positions impacting cloud service adoption.
  • Propose and drive process and program improvements to scale OCISO operations.
  • Build and maintain scalable capabilities to support customer third-party risk management and assurance requirements.
  • Coordinate and lead customer audits and assessments.
  • Maintain relations with internal teams to drive and enable programs required to build trust with customers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required, plus a minimum of 8 years' experience in Information Security and Compliance.
  • Experience at a cloud or SaaS provider or as a customer of a cloud or SaaS provider with complex and demanding security and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with a combination of regulatory standards, including GDPR, SOC2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, HITRUST, FedRAMP, CSA, CIS, NIST, C5, and Financial Services requirements.
What Gives You an Edge
  • Current Security CISSP, CISA, CISM, or equivalent certification completed or currently in progress.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory standards and prior experience reviewing and negotiating security clauses within customer contracts.
  • Able to independently lead and manage internal process and operational improvement programs.

Confluent offers a competitive pay and benefits package, including an annual estimated salary of $152,200 - $178,830, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package.
