Position Overview

The role of a Senior Security Risk Consultant involves a comprehensive approach to personnel security management within a governmental framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the security clearance protocols and ensuring ongoing compliance with suitability standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer the organization’s personnel security measures, including the management of security clearance applications and ongoing suitability evaluations.
  • Conduct thorough pre-employment screening and assessments to ensure candidate eligibility.
  • Oversee separation processes and aftercare initiatives for departing personnel.
  • Identify and mitigate personnel security vulnerabilities in alignment with the Public Sector Personnel Framework (PSPF).
  • Manage the governance of personnel eligibility, including waivers and temporary access permissions.
  • Lead investigations related to security incidents and manage response protocols.
  • Facilitate educational programs on personnel security and engage with departmental stakeholders.
  • Deliver security briefings as necessary to relevant parties.
  • Provide expert advice on a wide array of security matters, including insider threats and risk management strategies.
  • Supervise personnel security arrangements across various portfolio entities.
  • Ensure effective governance and reporting within the security section.
Qualifications

Essential: A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Personnel Security Consultant within the Federal Government.

Mandatory Qualification: Certificate IV in Government Security (Personnel Vetting) or an equivalent certification is required.

Work Environment

The position will require the designated personnel to operate from the state office, with a minimum expectation of three full days per week in the office setting.
