RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES


Acquire and manage essential resources, including leadership backing, financial assets, and key security personnel, to support information technology security objectives and mitigate overall organizational risk.

Provide counsel to senior management regarding risk levels and security posture.

Inform the Authorizing Official of changes impacting the organization's cybersecurity stance.

Gather and maintain data necessary to fulfill system cybersecurity reporting obligations.

Identify alternative information security strategies to meet organizational security goals.

Oversee the information security training and awareness initiatives.

Engage in the development or modification of the cybersecurity program plans and requirements for the computing environment.

Prepare, distribute, and uphold plans, instructions, guidance, and standard operating procedures concerning the security of network systems operations.

Supervise protective or corrective actions when a cybersecurity incident or vulnerability is identified.


Ensure that plans of actions and milestones or remediation strategies are established for vulnerabilities recognized during risk assessment audits and inspections.


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Familiarity with data backup recovery processes

Understanding of intrusion detection methodologies and techniques for identifying host and network-based intrusions.

Knowledge of controls associated with the use, processing, storage, and transmission of data.

Awareness of laws, policies, procedures, or governance pertinent to cybersecurity for critical infrastructure.

Familiarity with new and emerging technologies.

Understanding of current threat vectors

Knowledge of client and server operating systems.

Responsibilities of this position also include, but are not limited to:

Participating in mandatory, annual training sessions

Providing regular status updates to management summarizing progress, challenges, metrics, and recommendations

Collaborating with team members to ensure effective communication and coordination

Attending recurring team meetings or huddles

Assisting in the development of new initiatives

Contingent upon award
