Position Summary

This is a part-time position requiring .625 FTE, which translates to 5 hours per day, following the academic calendar.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist educators in preparing instructional materials tailored to student needs and monitor comprehension of subject matter.
  2. Provide one-on-one tutoring for students requiring additional support, while also offering advanced assignments for quicker learners.
  3. Supervise students during classroom activities, ensuring a conducive learning environment.
  4. Translate educational materials into various languages as needed.
  5. Organize and prepare classroom resources using modern office technology.
  6. Maintain accurate records of student performance and classroom activities.
  7. Engage with parents regarding student progress and classroom dynamics.
  8. Oversee student behavior during lunch and recess, promoting a safe and orderly atmosphere.
  9. Manage classroom supplies and assist in inventory control.
  10. Administer basic first aid for minor injuries.
  11. Uphold consistent attendance and punctuality.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  1. Ability to engage with students in both group and individual settings.
  2. Proficient in instructional and behavioral management techniques.
  3. Familiarity with current office technology and software.
  4. Strong communication skills, particularly in a foreign language.
  5. Experience working with diverse student populations.
  6. Ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
To demonstrate Highly Qualified status, candidates must provide documentation showing one of the following:
  • Completion of at least two years of post-secondary education with 72 credit hours.
  • Possession of an associate's degree or higher.
  • Successful completion of a formal assessment demonstrating proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Fluency in a foreign language.
  • Bilingual skills and multicultural experience are highly valued.
