Laurel Hill Center is seeking a dedicated full-time Employment Support Specialist to assist individuals facing challenges in securing and maintaining employment. This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $42,000 to $50,000 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, life insurance, disability coverage, paid time off (PTO), flexible work schedules, an employee assistance program, paid holidays, annual performance evaluations, and cost-of-living adjustments. Additionally, Laurel Hill Center is eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST

As an Employment Support Specialist, you will work closely with individuals eager to enter the workforce but who may face barriers to employment. Utilizing the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model, your primary focus will be on connecting clients with suitable job opportunities within the community.

Your role will involve collaborating with local businesses to identify how our clients can fulfill their workforce needs. Much of your time will be spent engaging with clients in the community rather than in an office setting. You will monitor and assess each client's progress towards their employment objectives and provide essential resources and skills training to facilitate their success. The satisfaction of making a positive impact in someone's life is a key aspect of this rewarding role.


QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST

To be considered for this position, candidates should meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in mental health, social services, or a related field, along with at least one year of experience working with individuals with mental health challenges.
  • Certification as a qualified mental health associate through the Mental Health and Addiction Certification Board of Oregon.
  • Relevant lived experience combined with two years of employment, education, or volunteer work.

Additional requirements include:

  • A valid driver's license.
  • A willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening upon hire.
  • Full vaccination against COVID-19.

WORK SCHEDULE FOR AN EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST

This full-time position typically operates Monday through Friday, with hours from 8 AM to 5 PM.
