We are looking for a Resident Support Specialist to become part of our Stabilization and Crisis Unit (SACU) team, composed of compassionate and committed professionals.
This position is based in Eugene.

To qualify, candidates should possess:
- At least eighteen months of experience in providing direct individual care, vocational support, or related human services training (e.g., working with Individual Support Plans, assisting adults and/or children with intellectual/developmental disabilities or substance abuse).
- OR
- One year of experience as a Direct Support Crisis Specialist or a similar role within the State of Oregon.
- OR
- An associate degree in a relevant human services field.
- OR
- A combination of education, training, and experience that is equivalent.

- Ability to review and analyze data, providing recommendations based on findings.
- Experience in training others.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills, both in writing and verbally, across diverse cultures.
While not required, the following attributes are advantageous:
- Experience in organizing, scheduling, and leading recreational, leisure, and/or educational activities and outings within the community.
- Familiarity with person-centered planning or trauma-informed care.
- Experience advocating for supported individuals.

ResponsibilitiesThe Stabilization and Crisis Unit (SACU) operates 20 residential group homes along the I-5 corridor, providing 24-hour residential care and supervision for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, often accompanied by co-occurring mental health diagnoses. Our mission is to assist individuals in safely transitioning back to their home communities through training and support. We foster positive attitudes while delivering health and medical support, psychological services, emotional and behavioral assistance, life skills training, educational support, recreational opportunities, and community integration. Our goal is to ensure individuals maintain a high quality of life, achieve maximum independence, and enjoy social opportunities that benefit both individuals and the community.
As a Resident Support Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
- Facilitating increased independence for individuals in areas such as personal care, nutrition, housekeeping, behavioral management, safety, healthcare, and other duties within the home and community.
- Ensuring the home/property is maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary condition.
- Managing financial planning for each individual, including tracking receipts, reconciling expenditures, and organizing celebrations for birthdays and holidays.
- Building and maintaining professional and collaborative relationships with all stakeholders.
- Contributing to a positive, respectful, and productive work environment for both clients and staff.
- Maintaining regular and punctual attendance.
- A valid driver's license is required, along with an acceptable driving record to transport individuals using state vehicles.
- The role involves working in a home environment staffed 24/7.
- Occasional overtime may be necessary to meet staffing requirements.
- Interaction with individuals experiencing intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD) and co-occurring mental health disorders is expected.
- Exposure to individuals who may be justice-involved or experiencing crises, which may manifest in significant emotional or physical behaviors.
- Work settings will vary, including homes, public schools, and community locations.
- Ability to engage in Oregon Invention System (OIS) approved restraints for one hour or less is required.
