Job Overview
PeaceHealth is seeking a Culinary Support Specialist for a Per Diem/Relief, Evening position. The hourly compensation begins at $14.17, with potential for more based on experience.
Position Summary:
This role involves a variety of responsibilities including the preparation, service, cleanup, and delivery of food items in support of hospital food and catering service operations, adhering to HACCP guidelines for safe food handling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to guidelines for assigned station setup and cleanup.
- May serve as cafeteria cashier and operate the cash register.
- Utilize dishwashing equipment, wash pots, and perform extensive cleaning duties in compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Prepare, mix, assemble, portion, serve, and store food according to established guidelines.
- Transport equipment, food, supplies, and waste as directed.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
Nonessential: High School Diploma
Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent.
Credentials:
Essential: Food Handlers Card - Oregon
Experience/Training:
- A minimum of one year of prior work experience is preferred, particularly in retail food service.
Skills and Requirements:
- Strong customer service skills.
- Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Strong communication skills to perform job functions safely and effectively.
Working Conditions:
This position requires frequent exposure to skin or lung irritants, extreme temperatures, sharp instruments, or hazardous equipment. Ability to lift objects weighing up to 80 lbs. is necessary. Job duties often require intense concentration and attention to detail (34-65% of work time). Moderate physical exertion is expected more than 65% of the time.
Note: This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be multiple openings for this role.
