Location: This role is based at our corporate headquarters. **This is not a remote position.

Role Summary:

The Finance & Accounting Executive is tasked with steering the financial and accounting operations of the organization. This position encompasses the management of all accounting functions, the preparation of financial reports, collaboration with senior leadership on budgeting and performance evaluation, oversight of accounting personnel, establishment of financial objectives, execution of fundraising initiatives, management of financial risks and investments, supervision of the annual audit process, and oversight of manufacturing and cost accounting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate robust leadership capabilities, outstanding financial expertise, and the capacity to influence strategic financial choices.

Key Responsibilities

Management of Accounting Functions:
  • Oversee all accounting operations, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and tax compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to all financial regulations and standards.
  • Assist in the preparation and timely submission of tax documents.
  • Familiarity with partnership tax accounting and pass-through entities is essential.
  • Enhance the utilization of ERP systems to support financial operations.
Financial Reporting
  • Generate and present precise and comprehensive financial reports to executives, board members, investors, lenders, and other stakeholders.
  • Support compliance and information requirements for financial institutions.
  • Develop and monitor essential financial metrics and performance indicators.
Budgeting and Financial Forecasting
  • Collaborate with executives and department heads to formulate annual budgets and long-term financial strategies.
  • Analyze financial performance against established budgets and forecasts.
  • Coordinate with supply chain management to align financial and product forecasts.
Leadership of Accounting Team:
  • Guide, mentor, and develop the accounting team to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls over financial reporting to protect company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Oversight of Annual Audit:
  • Manage the selection of external auditors and oversee the annual audit process.
  • Ensure compliance with audit requests and address any deficiencies identified during the audit.
  • Implement corrective measures to rectify deficiencies and enhance financial controls.
Documentation and Internal Controls:
  • Maintain thorough and accurate financial documentation to support all financial transactions and reporting.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to ensure financial integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Manufacturing and Cost Accounting Oversight:
  • Supervise all aspects of manufacturing and cost accounting, including the analysis of production costs and inventory valuation.
  • Oversee the cost accountant to ensure accurate cost accounting practices.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to enhance cost efficiency and profitability in manufacturing operations.
Establishment of Financial Objectives:
  • Define financial targets and objectives in alignment with the company's strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve financial targets and drive growth.
Fundraising Initiatives:
  • Assist with fundraising opportunities and strategies to support the company's financial needs and growth plans.
  • Facilitate communications with investors, financial institutions, and other funding sources.
Management of Financial Risks and Investments:
  • Evaluate and manage financial risks, including credit, market, and operational risks.
  • Oversee the company's investment activities and portfolio management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
  • Proven ability to prepare and present complex financial reports.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems - experience with NetSuite is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity and dependability.
