Position Summary:


Riverside Research is in search of a dedicated entry-level IT Support Specialist to deliver comprehensive end-user support for a mid-sized wide area network, emphasizing exceptional customer service and mission continuity.

This role involves managing and organizing service requests, incidents, and problem resolution, as well as creating and maintaining support documentation to enhance end-user assistance and self-service options.

The responsibilities of this position primarily involve non-technical tasks, but also include basic technical systems administration duties, providing a clear pathway for professional growth in the IT sector.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong enthusiasm for technology, a curious mindset, and a drive for rapid career advancement within the IT field.

Live or relocate to a commutable distance to the office and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide Tier-1 support for both on-site and remote users utilizing the existing support framework.

Respond to incoming IT inquiries from clients via phone and ticketing systems.

Maintain up-to-date Service Desk tickets.

Create, update, and distribute self-help documentation and training materials for end-users.

Perform administrative tasks related to user and device life-cycles.

Conduct inventory management tasks.

Core responsibilities will evolve alongside the individual's growth in the role, potentially including more technical duties.

Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, an advanced degree without experience, or equivalent work experience is typically required for this level.

Previous experience in a Help Desk or Service Desk support role is essential.

Ability to communicate effectively with customers using non-technical language.

Capability to perform well under pressure.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Well-developed general computer skills.

Excellent communication abilities.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the capacity to independently identify, research, and resolve issues.

Ability to obtain security clearance.

Ability to obtain and maintain DoD IAT Level 1 Certification within 180 days of employment.

Bachelor's degree or currently pursuing one.

U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with IT service delivery frameworks such as ITIL is advantageous.

Prior experience with Microsoft Active Directory is preferred but not mandatory.

Experience with scripting languages is a plus but not required.

Compensation:
$72,000 - $88,000. This range represents the typical compensation for this position based on experience, location, and other relevant factors.
