About this Position:

Wells Fargo is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to enhance the Home Lending Financial Planning and Analysis efforts. This role will be integrated within the Home Lending Finance team and the wider Consumer Lending Finance division, collaborating with finance partners to gain insights into the key business drivers affecting financial forecasts, budgets, and month-end discrepancies. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee intricate projects concerning financial research and reporting, as well as providing financial consulting related to business performance.
  • Deliver comprehensive advice and technical knowledge on complex financial analyses and economic research to support management decision-making processes.
  • Supervise the evaluation of financial outcomes against budget and forecast, ensuring that variances are clearly understood and communicated within the Home Lending and Consumer Lending Finance teams.
  • Manage expense oversight processes across Home Lending, including communication, reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing financial reporting, including managing deliverables for significant strategic projects such as PowerBI and the Home Lending driver database.
  • Assist in the formulation and assessment of monthly forecasts, annual plans, and other ad-hoc financial projections.
  • Investigate strategies and propose recommendations for future financial planning.
  • Facilitate the communication of financial outcomes for inclusion in monthly business reviews and quarterly investor relations reports.
  • Make informed decisions to maintain effective and efficient reporting that aligns with brand and internal control standards.
  • Ensure compliance with the Governance & Oversight Framework, including maintaining updated procedures and demonstrating RCSA controls; provide guidance and support to the department in fulfilling all required deliverables.
  • Provide leadership by evaluating the impact of deficiencies in management reporting; engage in discussions with line of business finance teams for resolution; track and document the implementation cycle from the perspective of report owners.
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to address issues and achieve objectives.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Finance, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Economics.
  • Ability to effectively manage within a matrixed organization.
  • Self-motivated with outstanding critical thinking skills and a strategic business perspective.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in executive-level reporting.
  • Knowledge of database querying and the ability to create ad hoc reporting results using tools like Essbase or similar.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx, or similar.
  • Capability to organize and manage multiple priorities to achieve results.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
