Overview:

Position Summary

The Financial Analyst is accountable for advanced responsibilities related to the compilation, development, posting, analysis, and reporting of financial data for the Medical Center within a Corporate Financial Department.


Key Responsibilities

Oversees, coordinates, and engages in the creation of routine consolidated financial statements, management monthly financial analysis reports, and various financial documents and analyses directed to senior leadership and external entities.

Handles monthly closing procedures, which include the posting of journal entries and the reconciliation of standard general ledger accounts.

Collects, organizes, and prepares data for regular financial reports, analyses, and visual representations for Medical Center management.

Contributes to the development and analysis of business, financial, and operational plans.

Participates in meetings, providing insights as necessary.

Assists senior personnel with projects and presentations of standard financial information.

Maintains effective communication with internal departments, Medical Center/NCBH/WFUHS/Subsidiaries, external auditors, etc., to identify, compile, and analyze financial data.

May take a lead role in coordinating standard projects by supervising the work of others.

Stays informed about industry trends, networks with peers at other institutions, and assesses the impact of operational initiatives on the financial health of the Medical Center.

Engages in mentoring accounting staff and others across the organization in utilizing standard accounting reports and tools to aid in organizational management.

Researches and documents position memos on routine technical accounting matters.

Performs additional related duties as assigned.



Required Skills:

Qualifications

Exceptional oral and written communication abilities, strong interpersonal skills, and the capacity to collaborate effectively in a complex, fast-paced environment. Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.

Advanced knowledge of Excel, Oracle, or similar ERP systems is required. A solid understanding of 3-way, 2-way, and PO processing is necessary.

The candidate should possess a strong ability to identify matching exceptions and resolve them for timely payment processing.



Education Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is preferred, along with three years of progressive experience in financial analysis or accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

A Master's degree is preferred. Experience in healthcare is also preferred.
