Position Overview:

This role offers technical leadership and support for the operation, maintenance, and continuous enhancement of the site's automation and process control systems.

  • Collaborate closely with Site Automation and Process Control Leaders, IT, Technical/Manufacturing Resources, and Technicians to understand business, production unit, and user needs and priorities.
  • Provide process control support for various technologies, including:
  • Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
  • Honeywell Experion/TPS
  • Process Data Historians (Honeywell PHD and IP21)
  • Honeywell QCS
  • PLC Systems
  • Siemens PLC
  • Allen Bradley Control Logix
  • Allen Bradley and Siemens Drives
  • Champion and implement enhancements in system capabilities to better meet customer demands and improve business competitiveness, adhering to required change management processes.
  • Identify, scope, and lead minor to medium capital improvement automation projects.
  • Manage DCS systems, hardware, networks, control configurations, graphics, documentation, simulators, backups, procedures, and training to ensure stable and efficient process control.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and commission control systems by configuring and developing DCS and/or PLC software.
  • Automate and manage existing process functions.
  • Develop HMI graphics that facilitate efficient technician response and enhance process operation understanding.
  • Provide control systems input into project development and design timelines.
  • Ensure adequate control software management to achieve site objectives.
  • Offer programming and commissioning support, along with basic administration of control systems, including monitoring and maintaining applications.
  • Serve as a resource for operations and maintenance regarding procedures, training, and standards.
  • Mentor teams and individuals on DCS or PLC-related tasks and activities.
  • Participate in and lead control system projects as necessary.
  • Engage in investigations of process control incidents and ensure follow-up actions are completed to prevent recurrences.
  • Assist in developing and achieving control system goals, ensuring tasks are completed effectively.
  • Be part of a team that provides support as needed for reliable 24/7 operation of production assets.
  • Occasional travel may be required for training or technology sharing with other DuPont sites.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with process control experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in chemical process manufacturing or a related field.
  • Proven track record in implementing, enhancing, and supporting Process Control systems, preferably with Honeywell Experion or TPS systems.
  • Experience with High Hazard processes and process safety management is preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues related to control system hardware/software, instruments, networks, or processes.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without restrictions.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to foster productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail.
  • Capability to understand and support complex operations involving sophisticated machinery and technically challenging processes.
