We are in search of a Cloud Security Engineer to work remotely.

We are looking for a talented Security Automation Specialist to enhance our team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in facilitating the integration of security practices within our development processes, ensuring ongoing compliance and operational security.

This position requires versatility, allowing the individual to navigate between security engineering, automation of security controls, software development, and assessment tasks within a risk management framework.

Essential Skills:

The ideal candidate should demonstrate proficiency in:

  • Designing tests, performance evaluations, and test architecture.
  • Configuration management and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, across all levels of the organization.
  • Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advance security initiatives by implementing test-driven security within a CI/CD framework.
  • Automate processes to align with the NIST Risk Management Framework.
  • Track and manage Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) to mitigate identified security risks.
  • Document and standardize processes, providing training for automated assessment procedures.
  • Develop security assessment automation tools to enhance DevSecOps methodologies.
  • Collaborate with development teams to embed security measures into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Conduct thorough security evaluations and risk assessments on both new and existing applications.
  • Provide expertise in formulating security policies and standards.
  • Document role-specific procedures effectively.
  • Work closely with compliance teams to maintain continuous monitoring and authorization.
  • Assist in creating security awareness and training programs for technical personnel.
  • Stay informed about the evolving security landscape, including industry trends and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience with security assessment tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with various programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Go, Bash/Shell, Groovy, YAML/JSON, PowerShell, Java, Terraform).
  • Understanding of DevSecOps tools and platforms, including Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, and cloud service providers.
  • Experience with Policy as Code and Compliance as Code.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks and continuous authorization processes.
  • Familiarity with NIST SP800-37, SP800-53/53a.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative work ethic.
  • Operational vulnerability analysis expertise.
  • In-depth understanding of Dev/Sec/Ops processes and testing methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as GCSA, CISSP, CEH, or OSCP.
  • Experience in policy assurance or a quasi-governmental setting.
  • Knowledge of cloud service providers and their associated security challenges.
