Position Overview:

Are you ready to advance your career in a rapidly expanding sector? TelCom Construction is seeking a dedicated and experienced Directional Drill Crew Foreman to oversee a full-time crew. This role is essential for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of drilling activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and communicate effectively with crew members.
  • Perform the tasks of directional drill operators and laborers as needed.
  • Implement procedures to ensure timely job completion.
  • Establish daily production targets.
  • Conduct daily site inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT documentation requirements.
  • Monitor adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Lead weekly safety meetings.
  • Prepare and submit necessary reports.
  • Set up safety perimeters using appropriate signage and barriers, and manage traffic when required.
  • Conduct Job Task Safety Analysis (JTSA) prior to commencing work.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a similar role with a strong focus on crew leadership and drilling processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret utility maps and prints.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and respectful direction.
  • Proficient in using locators for safe utility identification.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to safety practices.
  • Basic computer skills; familiarity with Google applications is advantageous.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Unrestricted Class A CDL required; Tanker Endorsement is a plus.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Travel may be necessary.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to climb in and out of various equipment.
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs, with the capacity to lift up to 100 lbs as required.
  • Engage in physical activities such as standing, crouching, and reaching during shifts.
  • Work in safety gear including boots, glasses, and hard hats.
  • Potential for remote work requiring extended periods of driving.
  • Vision capabilities must include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
  • Exposure to outdoor conditions and varying weather.
