We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team as an Academic Faculty and Assistant Program Director at Teachpsych.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a full-time faculty member to teach undergraduate psychology courses, provide academic advising, and assist in program development and assessment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach face-to-face courses to undergraduate students, including careers courses, research methods, and courses within the applicant's area of expertise.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching and learning strategies.
  • Provide students with a syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies, texts and other readings, assignments and deliverables, timelines, and evaluation criteria.
  • Use the University's learning management system to post syllabi, assignments, student grades, and other materials, and to communicate with students.
  • Participate in service activities, serve on committees, and represent the program and institution in/at community functions.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge in discipline and areas of expertise.
  • Engage in scholarship resulting in conference presentations, publishable manuscripts, peer-reviewed instructional materials, or other outcomes consistent with expectations for scholarly activities.
Requirements:
  • A doctoral degree in psychology or psychology-related discipline.
  • College teaching experience in relevant courses and evidence of teaching excellence.
  • Experience teaching introduction to the psychology major/careers courses and research methods preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver courses that incorporate effective teaching and learning strategies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Ability to mentor and advise undergraduates with diverse career interests.
  • Ability to work both as a member of a team and as a team leader.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Work requires sitting, standing, and walking as part of classroom instruction.
  • Must be able to use technology, such as typing and manipulating a mouse/mouse pad.
