Production Operations Supervisor

Position Overview:

The Production Operations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safety of our workforce while efficiently producing high-quality products. This role requires strict adherence to PURIS' Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and Quality Standards. The Production Operations Supervisor is expected to embody the core values of PURIS: Integrity, Leadership, Openness, Global Vision, Adaptability, and Partnership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee plant production efficiency while maintaining a safe environment for personnel and food.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles to optimize resource utilization.
  • Manage a diverse team of over 30 front-line managers and technicians.
  • Develop and implement annual, monthly, and weekly production schedules aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide leadership in safety practices through training and personal example.
  • Contribute to the creation of improvement plans aimed at enhancing process efficiency and fostering new product development.
  • Lead and manage production operations, ensuring accountability and development of the team to meet performance goals.
  • Coordinate weekly maintenance activities with production schedules to resolve any conflicts.
  • Develop and maintain a staffing plan to support continuous operations.
  • Manage standard work documentation and training systems effectively.
  • Lead periodic Clean In Place (CIP) processes to ensure operational cleanliness.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team on project planning and represent production interests in strategic management discussions.
  • Be available for occasional shifts outside of regular hours, including weekends.
  • Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering or a Technical/Vocational field with proven analytical skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a process plant environment, ideally in a managerial or senior engineering role.
  • Experience in operational safety leadership is essential.
  • Demonstrated success in process improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with food production or similar environments, including food safety protocols, is preferred.
  • Experience in a 24/7 operational setting is advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, including familiarity with methodologies such as A3, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing is a plus.

  • Sound judgment and business acumen, with strong decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
