Position: Social Services Case Worker at The Salvation Army

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field.
  • Experience as a case worker/manager, advocate, or resident assistant preferred.
  • Understanding of Social Services delivery and community services.
  • Ability to work well with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Respect for confidentiality and adherence to ethical and legal standards.
  • Supportive of The Salvation Army's mission.
  • Certification in Adult CPR and First Aid required.
  • Ability to pass background checks and pre-employment drug test.
  • Valid MN driver's license with no restrictions.
  • Completion of required training course within 30 days of hire.

Job Summary:

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting clients in the Housing Program, accessing external resources, and ensuring housing stability. You will work independently under limited supervision, utilizing your skills and experience to make a positive impact in the lives of our clients.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conduct client interviews, determine eligibility, and provide referrals to relevant resources.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and statistics.
  • Participate in meetings and networking events to build relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Function as a client resource, providing guidance and support to those in need.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and service providers.
  • Assist clients with direct support and referrals to external resources.
  • Network with community resources to identify and access available services.
  • Help clients meet their daily needs and improve their housing situations.
  • Ensure proper documentation of client interactions and maintain confidentiality.
  • Provide crisis intervention and home visits as needed.
  • Attend educational opportunities and participate in department functions to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere and build strong relationships with colleagues.
  • Perform other assigned duties, including support for departmental initiatives and events.

Working Conditions:

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional emotional demands. The position cannot be performed remotely and requires regular interaction with clients and colleagues.
