Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and manage the payroll operations of our organization. This role ensures accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing for all employees across multiple locations. The Payroll Manager will work closely with the HR and Finance teams to streamline payroll processes, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the preparation, processing, and distribution of multi-state payrolls, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Utilize Workday to manage payroll operations, including setup, processing, reporting, and system enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws, including the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings.
  • Collaborate with the HR and Finance teams to resolve payroll-related issues and answer employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and benefits.
  • Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform regular audits of payroll data to ensure proper calculation of wages, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Manage the year-end payroll processes, including the preparation and distribution of W-2s and other tax forms.
  • Provide regular and ad hoc reports to management related to payroll costs, headcount, and tax reporting.
  • Stay updated on payroll regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance and recommend process improvements.
  • Lead and mentor payroll team members, providing training and support as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
  • 5+ years of payroll management experience with at least 3+ years of Workday experience.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll processing, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience with Workday Payroll; including setup, maintenance, reporting, and integration.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
  • Experience with payroll integration projects or process automation using Workday.
