Job Title: Sales Trainee - B2B Low Voltage Distributor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Trainee to join our team at Security Equipment Supply Inc. This position is ideal for individuals who are interested in starting a career in sales and want to gain valuable experience in the B2B sales environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Product Knowledge: Learn about the products and services offered by the low voltage distributor, including their features, applications, and benefits.
  2. Lead Generation: Assist the sales team in prospecting and lead generation activities, such as researching potential customers and collecting relevant contact information.
  3. Sales Meetings: Participate in sales meetings and training sessions to understand the sales process, sales techniques, and product knowledge.
  4. Customer Support: Respond to customer inquiries and provide information about products, pricing, availability, and delivery options.
  5. Order Processing: Assist with order processing, including entering orders into the system, coordinating with the operations team, and tracking order status.
  6. Customer Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records, sales activities, and communication logs using CRM software.
  7. Market Intelligence: Stay updated with industry trends, product advancements, and competitor activities to contribute to the team's market intelligence.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent education. Some college coursework in business or sales is preferred but not required.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate information clearly and professionally.
  • Sales Skills: Passionate about sales and eager to learn and develop sales skills in a B2B environment.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with customers and team members.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable learning new software systems.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to a positive and supportive work culture.
  • Customer Focus: A customer-focused mindset with the ability to understand and address customer needs.
  • Self-Motivation: Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a desire to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Adaptability: A willingness to adapt to changing business needs and take on new responsibilities as required.

  1. Warehouse Experience: Start in our warehouse to gain a deep understanding of our products and vendors. This will entail shipping, receiving, stocking, etc.
  2. Learning and Development: Work with Sales and Management to learn our system, place orders, pick orders, and attend low voltage classes.
  3. Mentorship: Once you are comfortable with our business model, products, and services, you will be paired with a seasoned Sales Associate who will be your mentor.
