Clark College is inviting applications for a permanent, 12-month Culinary Operations Supervisor position. This role requires in-person attendance for 32 hours each week, from Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. The supervisor will collaborate with the department manager and faculty to oversee kitchen staff, prepare and cook food items, and engage in menu planning and development, while ensuring outstanding customer service, food safety, and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Design, prepare, and cook menu offerings.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure a consistently high-quality food program by utilizing established culinary recipes and procedures.
  • Foster a positive and supportive workplace culture.
  • Contribute to staff development through interviewing, hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with culinary and baking programs.
  • Engage in weekly departmental meetings.
  • Manage scheduling and time-off requests.
  • Oversee ordering and inventory management.
  • Act as a responsible steward of college resources.
  • Understand and enforce food safety policies.
  • Perform additional related duties as necessary.
Qualifications

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates will be assessed based on their application materials, including supplemental questions and personal interviews, and must demonstrate competencies in the following areas:

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate, along with four (4) years of supervisory experience in an industrial, commercial, or institutional food service setting, or equivalent related experience and/or education.
  • Proficiency in Point of Sale systems and adherence to cash handling procedures with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Possession of a valid State of Washington Food Handlers card or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.

SALARY/BENEFITS:
Salary Range: $2,982 - $3,989/month at 80% FTE (based on full-time rate of $3,728 - $4,987) | Step A-M (commensurate with qualifications and experience) | Range: 43 | Code: 675I
Successful candidates typically start at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases.
