Clark College is currently seeking applications for a permanent, full-time Culinary Services Supervisor. This role entails working in person, 32 hours per week, from Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The supervisor will collaborate with the department manager and faculty to manage the culinary team, oversee food preparation and cooking, engage in menu planning and development, and ensure outstanding customer service, merchandising, food safety, and workplace safety.

Position Responsibilities

Key Duties:
  • Design, prepare, and cook menu offerings.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain a consistently high-quality food program utilizing McClaskey Culinary Institute recipes and standards.
  • Foster a positive and supportive work atmosphere.
  • Assist in the development of staff through interviewing, hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with the Professional Baking and Cuisine Programs.
  • Participate in regular departmental meetings.
  • Manage scheduling and time-off requests.
  • Oversee ordering and inventory management.
  • Act as a steward of college resources.
  • Comprehend and enforce food safety policies established by McClaskey Culinary Institute.
  • Perform related duties as necessary.
Qualifications

Requirements:
Candidates will be assessed based on their application materials, including supplemental questions and personal interviews, and must demonstrate competencies in the following areas:
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate, along with four (4) years of supervisory experience in industrial, commercial, or institutional food service, or equivalent related work experience and/or education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Proficiency in Point of Sales systems and adherence to accurate cash handling procedures.
  • Valid State of Washington Food Handlers card or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.

  • The initial appointment will include a probationary period, with permanent status granted upon successful completion.

Compensation:
Salary Range: $2,982 - $3,989/month at 80% FTE (based on full-time rate) | Step A-M (commensurate with qualifications and experience) | Range: 43 | Code: 675I
Successful candidates typically start at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases.
