Navy Acquisition Policy Specialist at Joint Strategic Technologies (JST)

Position Overview

Joint Strategic Technologies (JST) is seeking a knowledgeable Navy Acquisition Policy Specialist to offer expert guidance to our government contracts and requirements team. The ideal candidate will stay abreast of the latest procurement regulations from the Department of Navy and Department of Defense, ensuring that our team is well-informed and equipped with the necessary knowledge. This position is primarily remote, with occasional in-office meetings required in Washington, D.C.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze updates from National Defense Authorization Acts and U.S. Government Accountability Office reports.
  • Revise guidance documents, disseminate communications, and conduct training sessions.
  • Oversee policy management within the Web-based Acquisition Toolbox.
  • Design and facilitate acquisition training programs.
  • Evaluate and enhance guidance and training resources.
  • Lead communication efforts and manage a dedicated team.
  • Establish records management protocols and propose policy enhancements.

Essential Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and NMCARS.
  • Strong research, analytical, and communication abilities.
  • Experience in consulting and advisory roles.
  • Familiarity with Navy contracting and procurement systems.
  • Proficient in critical thinking and problem-solving.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • At least 10 years of experience in contract specialist positions.
  • A minimum of 5 years focused on procurement policy.
  • Subject matter expertise in DoD acquisition policy.
  • Understanding of industry business practices.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of acquisition regulations.

Clearance Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance is mandatory.
  • Successful completion of drug screening and background checks.
