RF/EW Systems Engineer and Policy Specialist

Zachary Piper Solutions is in search of a RF/EW Engineer and Policy Specialist to provide critical support for a significant government initiative. This role is fully onsite in Washington, DC, and focuses on assisting a military program's Exports office.

**Note: Only candidates with an active TS/SCI clearance will be considered**

Key Responsibilities for the RF/EW Engineer and Policy Specialist:

  • Deliver technical guidance and expert insights on RF/EW and IR/EO systems/platforms.
  • Compose defense position documents and decision memoranda regarding the U.S. export of relevant systems/platforms.
  • Evaluate and authorize export license applications in accordance with DoD directives.
  • Act as a representative for the program office at various government, DoD, and industry gatherings.
  • Support the Program/Deputy Program Manager in daily operations, including technology/system integration assistance.

Qualifications for the RF/EW Engineer and Policy Specialist:

  • Possession of an active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Mid-career to senior-level experience in radar technology or export policy/controls is required.
  • Proficiency in electronic systems, active electronically scanned arrays, and related components such as power amplifiers.
  • Background in providing technical assistance to DoD entities, inter-agency collaborations, and joint service committees.
  • Adeptness in organizing and facilitating meetings, events, and working groups involving services, industry, or government bodies.
  • Strong analytical and research capabilities, with a talent for compiling reports, creating presentations, and providing technical summaries and recommendations.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Education: While a degree is not mandatory, relevant experience in radio technology and systems is expected.

Compensation for the RF/EW Engineer and Policy Specialist:

  • Salary: $160k-$215k (the range reflects various openings at different levels, based on experience)
