Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Specialist to join our team at the Department of the Navy. As a Contract Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the procurement process from start to finish, including soliciting bids, evaluating proposals, and awarding contracts.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors, ensuring fair and competitive prices.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve contract management processes and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless contract execution.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least one year of experience in contract management, procurement, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of contract laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Professional certification in contract management, such as the Certified Professional in Contract Management (CPCM) or the Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM).
  • Experience working with the Department of Defense or other government agencies.
