Job Overview


The Electronic Technician Maintenance III role is integral to the Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations Maintenance Program (ATMP) at Fort Irwin, CA. This position is primarily focused on supporting Live Fire operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Execute intricate tasks involving the replacement of target components, wiring circuits, and performing repair functions that often require more than just referencing manufacturers' manuals.

2. Seek technical guidance from supervisors and apply advanced knowledge of electronic principles to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions.

3. Manage the storage, consumption, and accountability of all issued parts and materials necessary for range maintenance operations.

4. Accurately document maintenance history and ensure that unique corrective actions for work orders and repairs are recorded in the AWARE Management Information System (MIS).

5. Communicate maintenance challenges and operational updates with supervisors and senior technicians.

6. Safely operate company vehicles, navigating established range roads and trails using basic navigation techniques, GPS, Night Optical Devices (NOD), and radio communication systems as required.

7. Conduct operator maintenance on company vehicles and support quality, security, and safety training initiatives.

8. Protect all assigned equipment from loss, theft, and damage.

9. May assist with military Rotational Training Unit's MILES installation and de-installation tasks.

10. As an ETM III, may take on additional lead responsibilities.


Qualifications

1. Minimum of three years of experience in electronic equipment maintenance, repair, and installation.

2. Familiarity with military range targetry equipment is preferred.

3. High school diploma or equivalent is required.

4. Secret Security Clearance and access permit to post by local law enforcement and security agencies are mandatory.

5. Ability to obtain a Government Common Access Card.

6. Valid Class C license, California driver's license, and NTC post driving privileges are essential.

7. Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

8. Must complete a company driver's certification course within 90 days of hire and demonstrate proficiency in navigating NTC's operational training area under various conditions.

9. Ability to read and comprehend manufacturers' manuals or technical documents.

10. Must be able to work outdoors in desert conditions, including heat, cold, blowing sand, and inclement weather.

11. U.S. Citizenship is required.
