Position Overview

Peraton is seeking a Complex Maintenance Facility (CMF) Maser/Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) Technician to support critical operations within our advanced technology initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

The CMF Maser/Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) Technician is accountable for the upkeep, repair, and evaluation of Low Noise Amplifiers (LNA) alongside related cryogenic and mechanical apparatus. The role requires a robust understanding of RF/Microwave systems and their maintenance, specifically for equipment functioning at RF frequencies exceeding 2 GHz.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of the principles and/or functioning of Instrumentation, Measurement, and Test Equipment (IM&TE) and RF systems.
  • Utilize a diverse range of testing instruments, including the design and application of measurement methodologies, and operate intricate measurement systems.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions logically and implement corrective measures.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance at the component level.
  • Employ reverse engineering methods when repair documentation is unavailable.
  • Execute calibrations, assessments, and validation tasks, ensuring completion of requisite performance documentation.
  • Fabricate cables, connectors, and interface devices as necessary.
  • Identify performance shortcomings and ascertain the root causes of equipment failures.
  • Innovate new maintenance techniques and strategies to enhance existing protocols.
  • Leverage computer automation for operation, calibration, and problem diagnosis.
  • Document all work performed in a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Operate with minimal supervision or technical guidance.
  • Maintain a tidy and secure work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • General Office/Shop Environment
  • Test Equipment - (Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Oscilloscopes, Multimeters)
  • Machine Shop Equipment
  • Power/Hand Tools (Drills, Saws, Buffers, etc.)
  • Material Handling/Packing Equipment
  • Lifting Equipment (Forklift, Genie, etc.)
  • Pneumatic Equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Climbing Antennas and Ladders
  • Exposure to loud/high noise environments
  • Work in dusty conditions
  • Outdoor tasks in extreme temperatures and humidity
  • Extended periods in air-conditioned settings
  • Prolonged sitting or standing
  • Potential for muscle/eye strain during extensive computer use
  • Continuous walking or standing
  • Crawling, kneeling, or working in confined spaces
  • Frequent stooping
  • Extended work hours
Qualifications:

Required:
  • Minimum of a 2-year technical degree (AS) in electronics or equivalent military training in Test Measurement & Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE), Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL), or a similar advanced technology program.
  • Two years of experience with cryogenic low noise amplifiers and/or RF/Microwave repair, maintenance, and calibration.
  • Experience in the repair, overhaul, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical devices.
  • Proficient in computer operating systems and site-specific Maintenance Management software.
  • Adherence to all safety protocols and job requirements to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work on-site up to five days a week, up to 9 hours a day.
