Peraton is looking for a Complex Maintenance Facility (CMF) Maser/Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) Technician to contribute to our operations supporting advanced space communication systems.
The role involves maintaining, repairing, and testing Low Noise Amplifiers (LNA) along with related cryogenic and mechanical systems. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in RF/Microwave technology, specifically in equipment functioning at frequencies exceeding 2 GHz.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of the principles and operation of Instrumentation, Measurement, and Test Equipment (IM&TE) and RF systems.
- Utilize various testing instruments and demonstrate proficiency in measurement techniques and complex system operations.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions logically and implement corrective measures.
- Conduct troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance at the component level.
- Employ reverse engineering methods when repair documentation is unavailable.
- Carry out calibrations, testing, and validation tasks, ensuring completion of necessary performance documentation.
- Fabricate cables, connectors, and other interface devices as required.
- Identify performance issues and ascertain root causes of equipment failures.
- Innovate new maintenance techniques and enhance existing procedures.
- Utilize computer automation for operation, calibration, and diagnostics.
- Document all work in a computerized maintenance management system.
- Work independently with minimal supervision or technical guidance.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Perform additional duties as necessary.
- General office and workshop setting.
- Utilization of test equipment including Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, and Oscilloscopes.
- Operation of machine shop tools and power/hand tools.
- Engagement with material handling and lifting equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Climbing and working at heights on antennas and ladders.
- Exposure to loud environments and dusty conditions.
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Extended periods of sitting or standing, with potential for muscle and eye strain during computer work.
- Frequent walking, standing, and physical maneuvering in confined spaces.
Required:
- Associate's degree in electronics or equivalent military training in Test Measurement & Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) or Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL).
- Two years of experience with cryogenic low noise amplifiers and/or RF/Microwave repair, maintenance, and calibration.
- Experience in the repair and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with computer operating systems and maintenance management software.
- Adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Availability to work on-site as required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Capability to work autonomously and follow instructions without direct oversight.
