Key Responsibilities:

The Lead Power Systems Controls Engineer will oversee the design, testing, and execution of power systems control solutions for our clients utilizing PLCs, HMIs, Multi-function Protection Relays, and Data Concentrators from leading OEMs. The Power Systems Controls (PSC) team serves as a comprehensive integrator of essential systems, equipment, and technologies to deliver a complete power systems automation solution. This group of skilled engineers and technicians ensures single-point responsibility and seamless integration across all major manufacturers of HMIs, PLCs, protective relays, and components.

In this role, you will:
  • Develop, modify, test, and implement software for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) for Power Transfer applications such as Main-Tie-Main, Main-Gen, Main-Tie-Main-Gen, and Paralleling Switchgears.
  • Adhere to customer specifications and internal guidelines for project execution.
  • Select components and prepare bills of materials.
  • Provide sketches, mark-ups, and guidance to Electrical Designers for project drawings.
  • Prepare customer submittals, Sequence of Operation (SOO), and testing procedures.
  • Assist with factory testing and field start-ups as necessary.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with malfunctioning systems.
Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of 7 years of controls experience or at least 10 years of controls experience in power distribution applications.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • No relocation benefits are offered for this position. Candidates must reside within the specified locations to be considered. Active duty military members are exempt from this requirement.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Familiarity with Power Monitoring and Control Systems and related protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC-61850).
