Position SummaryAs a Senior Controls Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and implementation of advanced automation systems aimed at optimizing our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in control systems, PLC programming, and HMI development, with additional skills in robotics and machine vision being advantageous.
Key Responsibilities- Electrical Engineering:
- Develop electrical schematics and designs using AutoCAD.
- Interpret mechanical drawings to ascertain electrical requirements.
- Research and select supplier products for assembly components.
- Establish and maintain electrical standards.
- Create electrical bills of materials.
- Power up and configure electrical systems according to specifications.
- Oversee quality assurance of assembly work and assist during the assembly process.
- Collaborate with Sales Engineers for quote preparation.
- Software Development:
- Design and develop software applications based on project specifications.
- Understand client requirements for HMI and communication interfaces.
- Review and modify existing code as necessary.
- Troubleshoot issues with installed systems.
- Prepare user manuals to explain software functionalities.
- Engage in technical writing, including software documentation and test plans.
- Participate in requirement reviews to ensure feature implementation aligns with mechanical engineering.
- General Duties:
- Adhere to company safety protocols and foster a culture of integrity and teamwork.
- Provide regular status updates on project progress.
- Ensure quality standards are upheld in a process-driven environment.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
- Available for overtime to meet project deadlines.
- Participate in the recruitment and training of new team members.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (BSEE preferred).
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in the automation sector.
- Proficient in AutoCAD or SolidWorks for design and drafting.
- Experience with PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Omron).
- Knowledge of HMI system configuration and design.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as UL and CE.
- Experience with motion controllers and actuators.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in control systems.
- Experience with vision system programming and robotics is a plus.
- Expertise in OEM and industrial engineering.
- Strong leadership and people management abilities.
- Proficient in electrical schematics and troubleshooting.
- Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Knowledge of industrial robot programming and automation equipment troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills and experience in a manufacturing environment.
