Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000

The starting salary for a successful candidate will be determined based on various factors, including market location, experience, skills, and education.

The Superior Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to enhance our Engineering team. This role involves overseeing all facets of engineering design and construction deliverables from inception to completion as directed by the Director of Engineering. The Senior Engineer will be tasked with delivering top-tier engineered solutions that align with applicable products, services, processes, codes, and standards to meet TSG's business goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate engineering deliverables such as drawings and specifications
  • Evaluate construction documents and provide insights on constructability, design enhancements, value engineering, and scope discrepancies
  • Lead design-build initiatives/projects by formulating scope of work, timelines, and budgets
  • Develop energization and electrical performance methodologies and procedures
  • Assist in equipment testing and energization, and conduct root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with TSG's teams including field and project operations, VDC, Estimating, and Prefabrication
  • Engage with owners, construction managers, and design professionals
  • Coordinate with product manufacturers, distributors, repair, and testing entities
  • Provide construction support through site visits, field observations, drafting RFIs, and addressing technical inquiries from our field/VDC teams.
  • Identify and create business case design enhancement studies
  • Conduct and review engineering calculations such as heat calculations, pulls calculations, and power system analyses

Your Expertise
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or possess equivalent experience
  • You have at least 10 years of experience in consulting engineering or electrical engineering
  • Required: Experience in the design, construction, and installation of building electrical systems
  • Required: Familiarity with NFPA, NEC, NFPA 70E, and other relevant codes and standards
  • Bonus points: Experience in conducting power system studies (Short Circuit, Selective Coordination, Arc Flash).
  • Bonus points: Project experience in mission-critical, healthcare, industrial, or commercial sectors
  • Bonus points: Experience in performing heat calculations and MV cable pull calculations
  • Bonus points: Professional Engineer certification in the State of Ohio
