Job Summary

The General Manager - Operations Lead will be responsible for overseeing the Handyman division of Ace Hardware Home Services in the Austin, TX metro area. This position will lead and grow this world-class handyman service, with a focus on quality craftsmanship and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and execute strategies for revenue growth and profitability for the business.
  • Oversee the daily operations of Ace Handyman Services within the assigned territories.
  • Ensure that top-level customer service is delivered at every job.
  • Hire and develop high-performing exempt and non-exempt employees, as well as independent contractors.
  • Partner with marketing teams to develop and execute effective marketing tactics to drive qualified leads to the business.
  • Responsible for commercial business development and other outside sales activities.
  • Create and maintain solid relationships with Ace Hardware retailers in the assigned territories.
  • Full responsibility for the financial performance of the business.
  • Identify, create, and implement new processes and procedures for the company to increase productivity and profitability.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely submission of weekly payroll, including performance bonuses.
Requirements
  • Ability to lead and develop all levels of the organization, including management positions.
  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience, in Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of construction management experience required. Paint management experience is a plus.
  • 3+ years of managing an independent contractor model business in the construction industry.
  • 3+ years of managing a company with revenues over $2 million.
  • 3+ years of sales experience in the construction and/or home service industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to display financial acumen and react to trends and seasonal changes.
  • Ability to multitask and effectively manage time.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow a company.
