Grant Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Grant Management Specialist to join our team at the General Land Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, coordination, and administration of grants, as well as monitoring grant awards and serving as a liaison between funding sources and the state or federal government.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the preparation, coordination, and administration of grants, including monitoring grant awards and ensuring compliance with program requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between funding sources and the state or federal government, providing technical assistance and guidance as needed.
- Develop and implement effective techniques for evaluating grant management programs, providing tools and strategies to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Monitor grant and/or contract budgets for timely expenditures, reviewing requests for payment and approving requests within allotted time.
- Coordinate revisions and resubmissions, working with subrecipients and their representatives to achieve compliant processing of requests for payment and expenditures.
- Support disaster recovery programs by completing timely and thorough application reviews, preparing requests for information, and providing technical assistance as needed.
- Perform grant management and oversight, including leading kick-off meetings, reviewing and approving contract change requests, and monitoring program compliance.
- Provide direction, guidance, and technical assistance to other grant coordinators, demonstrating CDBG program and grant management knowledge in a team lead capacity.
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in public administration, business, or a closely related field.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience in the administration, development, coordination, and monitoring of grants, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing programs related to Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Disaster Recovery, Grant Management, or a related field.
- Familiarity with State and Federal programs related to housing, housing management, grant management, and disaster recovery.
- Experience managing CDBG-DR or other federally funded disaster recovery programs, people, and/or projects.
- Experience in the management of a business function, division, or department relevant to the assignment.
- Work experience coordinating projects, work groups, or team members.
- Work experience in business process and workflow analysis.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to grants and contract administration.
- Knowledge of research and budgeting processes.
- Knowledge of business administration principles and practices, including financial management and accounting.
- Knowledge of program planning and development.
