Position Responsibilities

:
  • Grant Specialist II: Engages in grant development, coordination, and administration tasks at a journey-level. Operates under general supervision, exercising moderate initiative and independent judgment. Responsibilities include monitoring and analyzing grant budgets, identifying spending trends, and developing requirements for grant programs. Additional duties may involve participation in disaster response and recovery efforts, which could necessitate alternate shift patterns or locations.
  • Grant Specialist III: Conducts grant development, coordination, and administration work at a journey-level with limited supervision. This role allows for considerable initiative and independent judgment. Responsibilities include monitoring and analyzing grant budgets, identifying spending trends, and developing requirements for grant programs. Participation in disaster response and recovery efforts may also be required.
  • Grant Specialist IV: Undertakes highly complex grant development, coordination, and administration tasks at a senior-level. Works under minimal supervision, exercising extensive initiative and independent judgment. Responsibilities include monitoring and analyzing grant budgets, identifying spending trends, and developing requirements for grant programs. Participation in disaster response and recovery efforts may also be required.

Essential Functions

:
  • Oversee grant and contract budgets to ensure timely and compliant expenditures according to program guidelines and applicable policies.
  • Manage grant oversight throughout the grant lifecycle, ensuring compliance with program guidelines, including application reviews, and provide technical assistance to subrecipients.
  • Act as a liaison for the GLO-CDR program, representing the organization with constituents, elected officials, and the public.

Qualifications

:
  • A degree from an accredited four-year college or university in public administration, business, or a closely related field.
  • Experience in grant administration, development, coordination, and monitoring.
  • Grant Specialist II: At least one year of relevant professional experience.
  • Grant Specialist III: At least two years of relevant professional experience.
  • Grant Specialist IV: At least three years of relevant professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

:
  • Experience as a Grant Coordinator, Grant Specialist, or Grant Manager.
  • Background in Disaster Recovery or community development block grant work.
  • Familiarity with oversight of federal funds or federally funded programs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

:
  • Understanding of laws and regulations related to grants and contract administration.
  • Proficiency in grant preparation, development, evaluation, and monitoring.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Capacity to interpret guidelines, policies, and regulations effectively.

Physical Requirements

: This position primarily involves sedentary office work, with routine mobility required for various duties. The role necessitates extensive use of computers and communication with clients and customers. The individual must be able to transport records and documents as needed.
