Job Purpose:

This is a "sales hunter" role that will be building sales pipeline to drive new customer growth. As a Business Development Representative, you will be looking to identify shippers to trust our organization with their freight. We provide full operational and accounting support to put you in a position to continually cultivate your sales pipeline for new customers and drive account strategy with the operations support roles for existing customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director, Sales Operations to develop and implement growth-based sales strategies that achieve revenue and profit targets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Use independent judgement and discretion to determine which shippers have freight transport opportunities, which lanes to quote, which loads to accept and do so in a way that achieves revenue and profit targets.
  • Effectively identify decision-makers and establish/maintain relationships with shippers that contribute to reaching revenue and profit targets.
  • Collaborate internally with operations teams to strategize and respond to RFP/RFQ's.
  • Collaborate with operations team members to provide excellent customer service and prompt issue resolution.
  • Use company provided CRM to manage the entire sales pipeline and the associated leading indicator metrics that result in hitting revenue and profit targets.
  • Travel to customer and/or prospective client sites (as needed) to facilitate profitable and sustainable relationships within the business.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but no degree required.
  • Logistics/transportation sales preferred, but not required.
  • Comfortable prospecting on phone and electronically.
  • Strong professional written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office, expertise with MS Excel.
