Job Overview

The role of the Electrical Equipment Assembler is essential for the assembly and modification of electrical and electronic devices. Key responsibilities encompass routing, wiring, assembling, and installing electrical and electronic components within sheet metal products or panels, including main control switch panels, adhering to established wiring standards, utilizing necessary hand tools and equipment. This position does not involve supervisory duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and analyze schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to ascertain material needs or assembly guidelines.
  • Assemble electrical or electronic systems or support structures, installing components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings using rivets, bolts, soldering, or micro-welding tools.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace electrical or electronic components to rectify defects and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Position, align, or adjust workpieces or electrical components to facilitate wiring or assembly processes.
  • Install programs onto PLCs.
  • Utilize wire cutters to cut wire as needed.
  • Connect wiring to accessories such as relays, circuit breakers, and plugs using hand tools.
  • Conduct functional and continuity tests on electrical components and perform other electrical testing.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on products and components to ensure adherence to approved standards.
  • Utilize computer programs such as SAP and accurately follow work instructions.
  • Employ software on a computer to load PLC and HMI programs.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues in collaboration with team members.
  • Inform supervisors of product discrepancies or equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain organized and clean work areas.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, meet tight deadlines, and manage work schedules.
  • Operational knowledge of various hand tools.
  • Experience in a repetitive task environment.
  • Strong focus on safety and quality.
  • Basic computer skills required; foundational PLC knowledge is strongly preferred.
  • 1-3 years of relevant electrical assembly experience.
  • Prior electrical training or certification is preferred.

Work Environment

  • Professional office setting with occasional exposure to a manufacturing environment, including noise, grinding, vapor, dust, and lubricants.
  • Adherence to company safety policies and wearing of personal protective equipment as necessary.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, bend, walk, sit, and use hands to operate office equipment, as well as communicate verbally and audibly.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of office products and supplies up to 40 pounds.
  • Proficient use of various hand tools, wire cutters, and other machinery.

Travel Requirements

Minimal to no travel is expected for this position.
