Company Overview: Join our family-owned Third-Party Logistics (3PL) firm, where we emphasize personalized service and nurturing long-term partnerships with our clients. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a committed Logistics and Fleet Operations Supervisor to guide our team and manage the daily functions of our warehouse and transportation services.

Position Summary: The Logistics and Fleet Operations Supervisor will oversee all facets of warehouse management and transportation logistics. This role includes supervising the storage, inventory control, and distribution of products, as well as managing our fleet of vehicles and drivers. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in logistics and operations, demonstrating exceptional leadership capabilities and the aptitude to enhance processes in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Warehouse Oversight:
    • Direct the daily activities of the warehouse, ensuring the efficient and safe handling, storage, and distribution of products.
    • Manage inventory levels, perform regular audits, and maintain precise record-keeping.
    • Establish and uphold warehouse policies and procedures, including safety measures and compliance with regulations.
    • Collaborate with clients to guarantee timely and accurate order fulfillment and delivery.
    • Enhance space utilization and workflow to boost efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Transportation Management:
    • Oversee and manage the company’s fleet of vehicles and drivers, ensuring adherence to all regulatory and safety standards.
    • Plan and coordinate routes, schedules, and dispatching to optimize efficiency and meet customer delivery timelines.
    • Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules, ensuring all vehicles are in optimal condition and reducing downtime.
    • Recruit, train, and supervise drivers, fostering a positive and productive work atmosphere.
    • Manage the coordination of backhauls and optimize load planning to decrease empty miles and enhance profitability.
  • Leadership & Team Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of warehouse personnel and drivers, providing training and support as necessary.
    • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
    • Conduct regular performance assessments and address any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Client Relations & Communication:
    • Act as the primary liaison for clients, addressing any concerns or issues and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
    • Work closely with the sales team to understand client requirements and develop tailored logistics solutions.
    • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates on operations and performance.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in warehouse and transportation operations management, preferably within a 3PL or logistics setting.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a history of developing and motivating teams.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards, safety protocols, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, focused on optimizing processes and reducing costs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of building strong relationships with clients and team members.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in a family-owned or small business context.
