POSITION SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Shift Leader is tasked with overseeing and coordinating all warehouse operations during the assigned shift. The individual must possess knowledge of and adhere to all Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). This role reports directly to the Warehouse Manager for guidance, interpretation, and assessment of tasks, ensuring compliance with Balchem Corporation's quality and safety standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Operate forklifts in accordance with operational safety guidelines.
  • Manage inventory control through D365; comprehend lot numbers and scales; ensure all documentation is completed accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace by fulfilling assigned cleaning responsibilities and adhering to the Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Observe safety protocols and report any potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Monitor product quality to meet SECS standards and notify the Manager of any deviations.
  • Report any breaches of company work ethics and standards to the Manager.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures regarding personnel, safety, and equipment maintenance.
  • Achieve proficiency in production and safety policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Preferred qualifications include an associate degree; however, a High School Diploma or GED is acceptable. Six to twelve months of relevant experience or training is preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer systems is required, preferably with experience in warehouse inventory management systems.
  • Strong motivation, organizational, time management, documentation, and communication skills are essential.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multitask and prioritize are crucial.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethics, including punctuality and dependability, are necessary.
  • Ability to apply common sense and skills in fulfilling responsibilities and operating equipment in accordance with company procedures.
  • Capability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write basic correspondence is required.
  • Must be able to pass any necessary examinations to perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to effectively present information in small group settings and handle conflicts professionally is necessary.
  • Willingness to provide and receive feedback to foster a positive team environment is required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Continuous standing, walking, and use of hands for handling tasks are required.
  • Regularly required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to lift heavier weights using safe lifting techniques.
  • Utilization of equipment, including computers and scientific measuring devices, is necessary.
  • Ability to distinguish colors is required.
  • Compliance with personal protective equipment policies is mandatory.
  • Exposure to various working conditions, including wet or humid environments and high noise levels, may occur.
