Position Overview

The role of the Accounts Receivable Clerk is essential in managing customer payments and ensuring accurate financial records. This position involves various responsibilities that contribute to the overall efficiency of the finance department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payment Management: Receive, log, and accurately apply all customer payments.
  • Documentation Handling: Download necessary backup documentation for cash applications from customer portals.
  • Data Interpretation: Analyze supporting documents to ensure proper coding and categorization.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies promptly.
  • Deduction Follow-Up: Communicate with customers regarding missing support for deductions taken.
  • Credit Processing: Handle credit memos, return authorizations, and disputes as required.
  • Account Analysis: Conduct thorough account analyses to maintain customer account accuracy.
  • Aging Review: Regularly review monthly aging reports.
  • Statement Distribution: Send out account statements to customers as necessary.
  • Reconciliation Updates: Maintain and update settlement reconciliation spreadsheets with customer deductions.
  • Collections Initiation: Initiate collection calls and/or emails to customers regarding outstanding invoices.
  • Communication: Liaise with outside sales representatives and customers to facilitate smooth operations.
