Quality Enterprises USA is seeking a Utility Operations Supervisor to enhance our team. The Utility Operations Supervisor is tasked with managing several utility teams, guiding project operations, and overseeing field staff to ensure successful project completion within established timelines. This role encompasses maintaining project standards, supervising on-site trades and personnel, and implementing effective safety measures for all on-site activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily oversight and scheduling for teams.
  • Guide field staff to ensure project completion on schedule, within budget, and to high-quality standards in accordance with plans and specifications.
  • Supervise field personnel, monitor daily and weekly timelines, identify and resolve issues, and report any concerns.
  • Plan and coordinate construction tasks, collaborating with other company supervisors and subcontractors.
  • Organize equipment, vehicles, and teams to optimize productivity.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with project managers.
  • Document site details and report daily advancements.
  • Attend project-related meetings to discuss progress and community impact.
  • Ensure teams maintain organized and safe job sites.
  • Promote site safety, encourage safe working practices, and address job site hazards promptly.
  • Enforce the company's safety protocols to achieve safety objectives.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, inspectors, and colleagues.
  • Assist engineers and estimators as needed in pursuing new or additional projects.
  • Exhibit leadership in alignment with company values and goals.

Required Competencies:

  • Proficient in interpreting civil construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to efficiently manage personnel and resources.
  • Demonstrated experience in scheduling, procurement, field supervision, safety management, quality assurance, and budgeting across all phases of civil construction.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory abilities, including task assignment, scheduling, directing, and inspecting work; managing employee performance; addressing grievances and resolving conflicts on large-scale projects.
  • Excellent decision-making capabilities.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and standards.
  • Exceptional supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Effective planning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; bilingual skills are a plus.

Education, Experience, Licenses, and Certifications:

  • Required combination of education and experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field, along with five (5) years of experience in major heavy highway or bridge construction, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory role, or
    • A high school diploma or GED with ten (10) years of experience in major heavy highway or bridge construction, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory role, or
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with project management and/or construction software.
  • Proficient in O365 and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Valid Florida class E driver license with a satisfactory driving record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • This position requires extended periods of outdoor work in various weather conditions.
