Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Care Coordination Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Managing patient admissions and overseeing the department's financial transactions.
  • Tracking referrals to specialists and coordinating physical therapy appointments.
  • Handling moderately complex assignments that require sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Prioritizing and distributing incoming communications, including mail and messages, to the appropriate personnel.
  • Compiling and preparing statistical reports for management review.
  • Organizing special events and interpreting policies to ensure compliance with confidentiality standards.
  • Collecting and verifying patient information for billing and charting purposes.
  • Setting up payment plans in accordance with hospital policies and assisting patients with necessary documentation.
  • Ensuring timely verification of third-party payer accounts and explaining financial obligations to patients.
  • Maintaining employee education records and managing various administrative tasks.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
  • A high school diploma or GED; an Associate's or Technical Degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant experience in a healthcare setting, ideally two years or more.
